Water, Waves, Repeat…Coastal Norfolk/Va Beach in 48 seconds. [Wendy & Lisa] (by MissKemiVA)
[Published on Dec 18, 2012
Bought a new camera earlier this year, and began snapping a bunch of pictures around Coastal Virginia (specifically Norfolk and Virginia Beach). So…here we are.The music is Wendy & Lisa’s “Water To The Wave” from the “Snapshots” EP. You can buy it here: http://www.wendyandlisa.com/snapshots
For my video, I edited together the song’s instrumental parts.
Shots in order of appearance:

Gabby Douglas Day. Key to the City Presentation ~ Virginia Beach, Virginia. September 28, 2012
It isn’t everyday you get the opportunity to see a history-making, Olympic gold medalist in person. Especially one from your home state. I didn’t want to miss the chance to be there.
Virginia Beach Mayor Will Sessoms presented Gabby Douglas with the key to the city. State Delegate Algie Howell was on stage as well. I shot this on my Canon but the excited crowds jostled me a bit, ruining some of my shots. Oh well. Neptune’s Park at the oceanfront was packed with lots of parents and their young daughters, possible future Gabbys in the making. :)

“The demolition of a real-life amusement park in Norfolk, Virginia was excuse enough for made-for-television movie The Death of Ocean View Park. Factual footage of the park’s destruction is blended into a fictional plotline by screenwriters John Furia Jr. and Barry Oringer. Mike Connors, Diana Canova, Perry Lang, Caroline McWilliams and James Stephens are among a group of funfair revellers who attend OceanView Park on the Fourth of July. It isn’t long before Mother Nature puts on a real fireworks display-a devastating hurricane.”
Granby Street in Downtown Norfolk, Virginia c.1941. 70 years ago, it looked a bit like ’40s New York City.
What the Virginia Beach Oceanfront looks like after the tourists have been kicked out leave. A pleasant, windy, winter day on the Boardwalk, featuring King Neptune’s (literal) rock hard abs. Why King Neptune is holding a turtle like a basketball, I have no idea.
